New High Speed AVE Train in Cuenca

March 11-13, 2011

Helen and I set off on Friday afternoon for Villarrobledo to visit Krista and Mary for Carnaval celebrations. A few cities are famous for their Carnaval celebrations and Villarrobledo is one of them. The celebration lasts for two weeks straight. Every night calls for a different costume with contests every night.

I spent the first weekend of Carnaval in Valencia but had to experience the pure Carnaval celebration in Villa.

So we caught the new high speed AVE train from Cuenca to Albacete.

Entrance to the trains

12 euro suitcases, can't beat that.
Inside the train.

View of La Mancha.
The train from Cuenca to Albacete was 40 minutes long. In a bus it takes two hours. Then we had a quick lay over in Albacete before catching a second train from Albacete to Villarrobledo, where Mary picked us up at the station.

more to come,
jaclyn
