Monday, September 27 2010

Monday I woke up in Motilla. Bea and I went to walk to the school to meet Sara to fill out some paperwork. On the way, we walked through the mercadillo, an outdoor market every Monday in the town. There are stands of clothes, shoes, bags, pillows, lamps, everything really. My favorite part was the food section with vendors selling beans, nuts, olives, fruits and vegetables. I bought a black small purse (10 euros) and contemplated boots but I think I am going to wait and get a pair after I scope out what everyone wears.

Bea and I went to pick up my bank card so I can take out money/use it as a debit card at stores. Then we went to pick up the paella her mom made us and headed back to Cuenca. On the way, we listened to the radio. I love the Spanish radio. It is a mix of Spanish and American music. But the American music is so random. There is Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Backstreet Boys, oldies, techno, etc. When there was an English song I did my best to translate it into Spanish and she did the same for me.  What a way to learn Spanish. If you like Shakira, download "Waka Waka" it is like the song here in Spain right now.

PAELLA.

Later I went for a run, showered and called it another wonderful day in Spain.

xxoo,
